Philip Holmes, owner, started The Rug Studio as World Import Gallery in 1994. The focus was on beautiful tribal and nomadic rugs and textile art from the most remote and obscure regions world.
As the business grew, so did its offerings: Today's Rug Studio offers most every style, color, and fabric available in the floor fashion market.
As the name Rug Studio implies, we take every client's individual needs into consideration as a project. We know you are looking for more than a floor covering; We are here to help you find the right rug for your home, lifestyle, and budget.

We specialize in custom rugs for the difficult areas of your living space. After all, one size does NOT fit all.
But with so many choices, the search may seem overwhelming. Fortunately, we are here to guide you through the process. We can assist you with finding the right rug given your colors, size requirements, and price range.
When possible, come with your colors (paint chips and fabrics), ideal size (include maximum and minimum), and your prefered price range. It is also helpful to bring pictures of rugs you may have seen in magazines, on-line, or elsewhere.
Sketches and/or pictures of your room are very helpful. We do make in home appointments if you prefer. And, we encourage you to try prospective rugs in your home on a no obligation trial basis before you make your decision.
Finally, come with an open mind.
